NOS Alternate Eventide H3000 Power Transformer, For Quieter 50 Hz. Operation.
The Eventide H3000 has a known issue; when used outside of North America and operated on 230/240 volt 50 Hz. power, most units emit an acoustic 50 Hz. buzz from the power transformer. This is caused by transformer core saturation at 50 Hz.
These transformers are from early Eventide production stock. They are quieter than the later, more common power transformer that was used on most H3000's. These transformers can easily be identified because the older quieter type has terminals, where the later transformer has colored wire leads.
Please note that while this transformer produces significantly less acoustic noise at 50 Hz. compared to the later type, it will not be 100% silent. (Virtually all power transformers emit some amount of acoustic buzz.)
Installation of this transformer requires some technical knowledge and soldering experience. The footprint is the same and it will mount to the original mounting holes, but you will need to carefully cut the original transformer leads and solder them to the terminals of the new transformer, or use hookup wire of the same gauge to replace the original wires. We will include a wiring diagram that shows how the new transformer is installed.
