dbx 207 RMS Detector For 160 165 165A Compressor/Limiters, Tested/Guaranteed. D7

Here’s an original dbx 207 RMS Detector module, carefully tested and fully guaranteed. The leads are about 1/8 long. This module was used in many dbx models over the years. A wiring diagram showing a 207 module and VCA will be included with each item.

The model 207 is actually an RMS Detector and a log-linear converter in one package. The input terminal is a current input and requires an input resistor. It is compatible with the dbx model 7 and 202 VCA's, which are both available through our store. The model 7 is the original VCA that was used in the original dbx 160 VU series of limiters. The 202 is a later, more stable version that was used in the 165.

PLEASE NOTE: This module can be in dbx 160 and 161 compressor  / limiters, and is more stable and reliable than the original 208 and 209 RMS detectors that were used in those models, and are now very hard to find. It has different pin locations and package size, so jumpers wires will be needed to connect the pins. We'll include a service bulletin that explains how to do this.

Specs are:
Supply voltage: +/- 15 VDC
DC output constant: -6mv per 1 db change at input
Response to small increment on a steady signal: 35 millisecond time constant
Response rate on removal of input signal: 120 db per second
Increment rate for large increase in signal: 80 db per millisecond.
