The recording industry has always been a “personality” business. Artists, engineers, producers, and techs gravitate to folks they feel comfortable with, and have similar outlooks about gear and sound. Clients enjoy dropping by our shop, sharing a story or two, and checking out the gear on the shelves.
But a third of our customers are out of town. In many cases a job is initiated by email, and we never even speak on the phone. So, these
